DP World Cochin’s International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) recorded its highest-ever monthly throughput in August 2026, handling 97,952 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), marking a 51% year-on-year increase. The record follows sustained growth in container volumes, with the terminal handling 74,644 TEUs in June and 74,585 TEUs in July. Between June and August, ICTT also handled 51 ad hoc vessel calls while maintaining operational efficiency, supporting cargo movement across key global trade routes. Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, has announced the creation of more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, including gig workers, for the upcoming festive season. Nearly 75,000, or around 30%, of these opportunities are for people entering the workforce for the first time. The opportunities span more than 7,000 Ekart facilities across India, including fulfilment centres, sortation hubs and last-mile delivery operations. Five students from Scaler School of Technology’s (SST) Deep Tech Innovation Lab have built a hexacopter drone that has moved from the lab into a real-world civic application in Bengaluru.
